How to use it

1. Upload a PDF or Word (.docx) file, paste the text, or open a saved .json file. The text is extracted on this computer and shown so you can check nothing is missing. 2. Review and edit each section: fix fields, add, delete or reorder entries, move misplaced items to the right section, and mark your first-author and selected publications. 3. Choose a version and watch the live preview change. 4. Export as PDF, Word, Markdown, or save the data as .json to continue later.

How the versions differ

Full academic CV — every section in the order search committees expect; all publications, numbered and grouped by type; grants with status and amounts; talks, teaching and service. Postdoc CV — research experience first; publications limited to first-author, selected and recent (last five years) papers with a note of the full count; fellowships, techniques, selected presentations and mentoring; at most four bullets per role. Industry resume — a professional summary and technical skills at the top, achievement bullets (three per role), compact education, a count of publications plus only the papers you select, awarded funding without amounts; talks, teaching and service are left out. Nothing is deleted when a version hides it — the preview lists what is hidden — and the tool warns when an industry resume runs past two pages.

Limits

Section detection uses headings and patterns, so unusual layouts may need more manual sorting — every extracted line is kept, and anything unplaced goes to “Other”. Scanned PDFs have no text to read. The keyword matcher only shows which frequent job-ad terms appear in your CV; it is not a hiring or screening score, and you should only add terms that truly describe your experience.

Keep your work

Your CV is saved in this browser automatically until you clear it. Download the .json file to keep a copy or move to another computer. Nothing is sent to any server.
