What it finds
- Antibodies and reagents with vendor, clone and catalog number (for example anti-CD4, clone RM4-5, BioLegend).
- Mouse strains and models (C57BL/6J, Cre lines, floxed alleles, 2D2, Rag1-/-) and JAX stock numbers with links.
- Data and code: GEO, SRA, BioProject, ArrayExpress, PRIDE, MetaboLights, Zenodo, figshare and GitHub.
- RRIDs, software with versions (FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Seurat, DESeq2 …) and doses and concentrations with the nearest named substance.
Step by step
- Open Paper Explorer and enter the paper’s PMID, PMCID or DOI — or upload the PDF (it stays in your browser).
- Open the Reagents & resources tab. Items are grouped by type; open source to read the sentence each came from.
- Export the table as CSV for ordering lists or a methods comparison across papers.
Limits to know
Many journals keep detailed methods in a supplement that is not part of the open-access text, so lists can be short. Extraction is pattern-based: always confirm a catalog number on the paper or the vendor’s site before ordering.
Questions
Does it work on PDFs?
Yes, for PDFs with selectable text. Scanned PDFs cannot be read.
Why is a reagent missing?
Methods may be in the supplement, or written in a form the patterns do not recognise. The Read tab shows the full analysed text.
